Finished basement home gym in Fishers: black rubber floor with gray fleck meeting new carpet at the doorway with no transition stripFinished basement gym · Fishers · Oct 2026

Bare floor to gym floor, Fishers

A basement in Fishers, October 2026. New carpet through the rest of the level, rubber in the room that was always going to be the gym.

Fishers · Basement gym · Oct 2026

Carpet where you sit. Rubber where you lift.

What you are looking at in the photo above: black rubber with a gray fleck, laid wall to wall and cut to the baseboard. At the double doors the carpet is tucked and the rubber is cut tight to it, so the line is clean and there is nothing to trip on. Open the doors, roll in the rack, done.

The same visit handled both floors, so the gym was finished the day the carpet was, by the same crew, with one clean edge between them.

Every reel is a real job. More on Instagram and Facebook, and every Google review is here.

Black · gray fleck

These three are the $9.60 floor and they are in stock. Every tile on your job comes from one lot, so the fleck reads the same across the whole room. I bring all three so you pick off the real thing, not a screen.

Ten more colors, sourced for you

Same 8 mm rubber, same install. Want the gym to match the team, the brand, or the rest of the basement? These come in by order, and the price follows the color you pick.

Screen colors are a rough guide. I bring the sample card so you see the real fleck in your light. Sourced colors are ordered after the deposit and are not returnable once cut, and the estimate says so.

Where it goes

A basement corner. A garage bay you gave up parking in. A spare bedroom, a bonus room, the end of a finished basement. Anywhere with a hard, flat floor under it.

  1. Text me the room. Length, width, and a photo of what is down there now. I ballpark it from the square footage the same day.
  2. Pick the color in hand. I bring all three. You see the fleck in your light, on your floor.
  3. Install day. The floor is swept and scraped, the tiles go down tight to the walls, every doorway gets a clean edge. You train that night.

Straight talk before you buy

8 mm is built for dumbbells, benches, racks and cardio, not dropped barbells. If you train with loaded bars coming down from overhead, that is a different floor. Tell me and I will tell you what it takes.
It goes over a hard, flat floor, never over carpet. If carpet is there now, it comes up first and the floor is prepped. That is quoted before I start, not discovered on install day.
New rubber carries a smell for the first couple of weeks. It fades. A window or a fan speeds it up. You hear this from me before the install, not after.

Common questions

Can rubber gym flooring go over carpet?
No. It goes over a hard, flat floor: a concrete slab, plywood, LVP, tile. Carpet is soft, so the tiles shift and the seams open. If there is carpet there now, it comes up first and the floor is prepped, quoted before I start, never mid-job.
Can you do a garage gym?
Yes. A garage slab is a good base as long as it is flat and dry. The tiles interlock over it with no glue, so a garage gym can come back out in pieces if you ever sell or move it.
What is included in $9.60 a square foot?
The rubber, the install, every cut around walls, posts and doorways, and the clean edge where it meets another floor. Tax included. The $500 install minimum applies to small rooms, which is about 52 square feet of rubber.
Is 8 mm thick enough?
For dumbbells, kettlebells, benches, racks, a treadmill, a bike or a rower, yes. It absorbs the impact and the sound and protects the floor under it. If you drop loaded barbells from overhead, that is a different floor. Ask me about it and I will tell you what it takes.
Does new rubber smell?
A little, for the first couple of weeks. It fades. A window or a fan speeds it up. I tell every client this before install day so nobody is surprised.
What colors are there?
Three stock colors at the posted price: black, black with blue fleck, and black with gray fleck. Ten more come in by order: blue with light gray, red, purple, green, iron works, java latte, gunmetal gray, egg shell, blue bird and dove gray. Those are sourced for you and priced to your pick. Every tile on your job comes from one lot so the color matches wall to wall.
How does it meet the carpet at the doorway?
The carpet gets a tucked edge and the rubber is cut tight to it. No transition strip to trip on, one clean line. That is the doorway in the Fishers photo on this page.
