About the operator

Seven years on my knees installing floors.
Now I do it under my own name.

For seven years I subcontracted for the big-box flooring programs — Lowe's and the chains. I'd show up to a stranger's house, install a floor better than anyone else on their roster, and walk out without the homeowner ever knowing my name. The store kept the markup. I got the leftover. And every customer paid extra for a middle layer that didn't lift a single carpet tack.

In April 2026 I broke off. Z Flooring is mine. No corporate manager, no script, no salesman to dodge — when you call, I answer. When you sign, I install. When something needs warranty work in year one, I'm the guy who shows up.

Most installs happen within 7–10 days of contract signing — sometimes right after the 3-day Indiana cancellation window clears. Smaller scopes and add-ons can be even faster. Material orders kick off the moment your deposit clears, and the only mandatory wait is the cancellation period Indiana law requires on every home improvement contract.

No. 50% deposit to book and order material. The remaining 50% is due after your final walkthrough — only after you've inspected the install and confirmed it's right.

Yes. We do labor-only installs for clients who source their own carpet or LVP. We'll quote labor at our locked rates and you handle material. Common for landlords, designers, and repeat clients who know exactly what they want.

Yes. Two structures depending on the relationship and timing: (1) Pre-listing refresh with 50% deposit at signing and 50% at closing (the standard — works great for sellers who want their listing to show fresh floors before going live). (2) Buyer-side carpet credit on the closing statement — buyer picks color after closing, install happens post-close, paid via escrow. Compass, F.C. Tucker, and several Indianapolis brokerages refer to us regularly.
